Hawk Brake Pad Compounds
An overview of our most popular Hawk brake compounds
HPS - Improved braking performance for street cars. Increased braking power over stock, no noise, very low dust and almost zero rotor wear. Also excellent for autocrossers who prefer less initial bite for smoother brake application.
HPS 5.0 - Improved version of the popular HPS pad with improved braking performance for street cars. Increased braking power over stock, no noise, very low dust and almost zero rotor wear. Also excellent for autocrossers who prefer less initial bite for smoother brake application.
HP Plus - High performance street, autocross, track days. Tremendous initial bite cold or hot. Low rotor wear. Excellent dual purpose pad for very light and/or under-powered cars or cars with over-sized brakes. Not recommended for track use with heavy and/or very powerful cars or for street use in very cold weather due to increased rotor wear. If you drive your car in winter months, consider swapping to HPS (or similar) at the same time you install winter tires.
DTC-30 - Extreme performance street, autocross, track days. Strong initial bite that increases as the pad warms up. Upgraded, better quality rotors than (most) OEM recommended, especially if used on the street (these pads tend to be more abrasive when used at low temps). Bremsen rotors work well with these pads. Do not use in very cold weather. If you drive your car in winter months, swap to HPS (or similar) at the same time you install winter tires.
ER-1 - Developed by Hawk Performance for the endurance racing market with a simple goal; offer a higher coefficient of friction than competing endurance pads while maintaining matched or improved lifespan. Years of testing across America’s most prestigious races has resulted in a well-rounded compound that offers ideal modulation and pedal communication, with ground breaking friction stability across a thermal range as high as 1,600°F. This consistency of performance, hour after hour, makes it ideal for not only endurance racing, but HPDE, track days, time trials and even sprint racing.
DTC-60 - A best seller for more track oriented and race cars. Tremendous initial bite and heat tolerance with good modulation and release. Easy on rotors when at proper operating temp. Can be used for occasional street use like getting to/from the track.
DTC-70 and DTC-80 - Race only pads. Very high torque and extreme temperature tolerance. Intended for all out race cars with racing tires and aero. |
